The Jewish Council of Scotland in agreement with the First Minister of Scotland, is delighted to announce a new initiative with the Scottish Government forming the Joint Working Group on Combatting Antisemitism and Enhancing Jewish Life.

This move comes in the context of rising antisemitic incidents in Scotland (and rest of UK) and will increase understanding of the issues facing Scottish Jewry with a proactive and responsive approach.

This high-level working group includes senior Jewish community representatives and government officials, stakeholders, and representatives of public bodies.

The focus will be to lead on practical steps across issues including education and welfare, to improve the security of Jewish communities throughout Scotland, and to strengthen Jewish life nationally.

We look forward to advancing this important work as we continue in our representation of, and commitment to, all Jews in Scotland.
